This gimpy little fat boy was off to Harborside Health Center on my bi-monthly visit the other day and I discovered a great savings, and saving is good. :o)

I bought:
50 HLT Brownies
2 grams of Bubble Kief
1 gram of Incredible Romulan

OK here’s the zinger; I told the guy at Harborside the last time I was there that I had lost my right knee in Korea, and my endocrine system was messed up from a couple of dips in Agent Orange from forty five years ago hence the reason for the overweight, asthma, diabetes, neuropathy, crutches for the knee, and ongoing pain. The guy at Harborside said “ Hey, bring your DD214 or your VA card and get an extra 15% off your order”.

So I showed him my DD214 this time and I received %15 off the order plus I got 1 free HLT brownie for spending over $150, plus I filled two goodie cards so I turned them in for 4 more free HLT brownie.

So the total for 55 HLT brownies plus the Kief, and Cannabis came to $360 out the door. Very good, and this little happy fat boy toddled on home.

This club is expensive and very expensive. The most expensive cannabis club that I have ever, or will ever go to. Not only that, but you get skimped and it is a little over rated. My dad likes it, but I'm not a big fan of the prices. So you might ask me why I gave it 2 stars. Well, one star for how clean it is and another star for the weed selection, which is enormous, but the overpricing does not make up for it.

Harborside Health Center is the epitome of what a great medical dispensary should be.

1) It has really good and tight security
2) It is CLEAN and extremely well run/organized
3) The bud is always fresh and of great quality. The edibles are amazing.
4) The budtenders know their stuff and are fun and kind
5) They offer other free medicine alternatives like acupuncture and yoga
6) You can volunteer for an hour and recieve a gram in return once a week

The only thing that kind of sucks (and its not Harborsides fault) is that you cannot medicate on the premises, but you can't do that anywhere in Oakland.

Overall it really is a great place. I don't know why anyone would give it a bad review because it is definitely the best club I've ever been to.

I usually trust this place for Hash until recently. I purchased their MG Kush Hash and immediately got sick to my stomach. That taste was horrible, it caused me to throw up. Can't return what I bought because they have no return policy. For them to claim they test their product is a total scam. I'm out money for meds that should have helped, me not harm me. As for the buds I got they were decent. Sad for a so-called Medical Dispensary to harm a patient and then not do something about it.

When I went to this club I thought, oh wee it looks so nice and everything set up real nice. It looks like a real nice place, something like a library without the books. Now they even got free services. Now all that is cool and all, and their weed looks alright, but why is it so hot in there? That's a disadvantage of the place. It's hot and crowded. Oh, and the edibles suck!! Other than that, it's cool. I would not go again, though.

This is the only dispensary I get my medicine, because it has always been the best at customer service and quality of product. But today I had the worst, and I mean the worst customer service I had ever experienced. The counter person who helped me, was wasted. He couldn't talk, he couldn't stand without tipping over to one side, and he tried to sell me product which I did not want. It took a total of 35 minutes just to get my medicine. He was confused and didn't know what he was doing. Next visit I make to Harborside, I will be sure to never get this person to help me again!!!

This was my first experience at a buying club, after hours of research online for EBay clubs. It was my first choice out of 3. I don't think I'll go there again. After reading reviews I have to agree with notes from others. The "tour" was cursory and when I paused at the end of tour with the Guide and another new patient to crane my neck over the aisle rope to get a better view of the retail counter, and the woman yelled at me that I couldn't do that yet, as I wasn't cleared. I told her, slightly embarrassed, that I couldn't see that well and I was just curious, as the counter was like 12 feet away. I felt like she thought that I was going to jump the rope, break the glass case and start stuffing my pockets!

Everyone from the door guards to intake people were uptight and humorless, I felt. I know they have to be professional, but not everyone is trying to pull something on you, I don't think. I find that people that aren't too intelligent are usually humorless. They seem to be people with no retail experience or know how to wait on people or patients and be sincerely friendly and pleasant. You have to be "socialized" a certain way to wait on the public. Not be an impatient, bossy disciplinarian. It made me think of a time I was booked for an infraction at a police station and how I was treated or when I spent the day being scrutinized at the induction center for the draft by military people. Anyway, I got home a little shook up from it all.

My Budtender was just ok, but not too helpful. I was a little overwhelmed by the selection, so I bought 3 pre-bagged "gram" bags. I noticed when I got home, 2 were much smaller than the third. I got 2 HG varieties and one MG, the Super Silver Haze, which was the one I tried that night. I filled a pipe and took 2 hits. A few minutes later, nothing. I waited 30 minutes and did 2 more, thinking maybe it was damp and didn't actually burn the first time.Still nothing, but an unpleasant, oppressive "heavy" feeling like being squashed under a 300 lb. pillow. Then it was just a real, downer stone feeling, very unpleasant. Some of the worst stuff I've ever smoked. And the above feelings were just light. I really felt like I had just smoked parsley or something worthless. I couldn't believe it! I wouldn't pay a $1.00 for pound of the stuff.

The next night I tried the Super Diesel and at least felt high after a couple of tokes. I haven't tried the 3rd yet, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I called later to ask if they guarantee their products and the Guide, who answered, told me bluntly, all sales were final. I just wanted to exchange it for something that worked! Tough on me. I shouldn't have bought it in the first place. So, it's time to move on and hope others are better. At least they'll be cheaper!

One word, amzing! This place is clean, well lit, and located in a very nice part of the Oakland/Alameda harbor area. I was greeted politely by a security guard and asked to park in a different lot, which sure beats a ticket! After I entered, I was given a tour of the facility, which included their clone area, information counter, activist resource center (a computer!), handicap entrance, restrooms, and yoga room. According to what I was told, they offer free yoga, acupuncture, and other holistic medicine practices. Remember, these services are only as good as the instructor . You can also volunteer to write pro pot legalization letters and such for 1 hour per week in exchange for 1 gram of meds. You also get a card such as you'd find in a coffee shop, for better deals. Honestly, this beats the hell out of a "first timer special" like other shops have. As for the meds themselvse, sweet mother of mary! Tried the Honeydew Kush bubble hash, OG Kush low-grade hash, and the Blue Dream S/I. All of them are fantastic, and all of them are at a fair price. The quality is such that a gram of their meds lasted 3 times as long as a 1/8 from a competing shop. Staff were friendly, polite, and informative in all dealings I've had with them so far. Also its easy biking distance from Alameda, which is very nice since Purple Elephant relocated.

They have the worst staff of the over 50 clubs I've seen in this wonderful state. There are many, many other clubs in Oakland, in safer locations and with better meds and polite staff. Their meds aren't that great, considering the bs you deal with for getting them.

Don't waste your hard earned money here, it's all bells and whistles and advertising. Really, it's greed, inadequate and incompetent, unkknowledgable staff and overhyped, overpriced medicine.
Medical Cannabis is expensive! Spend your money elsewhere and get more quality with much better service. Harborside is an overpriced dispensary with horrendous patient service.

There are way too many kick ass clubs in Oakland to go and spend your money at and get better meds for a cheaper price.

When there was little competition, you had your moment Harborside. Your fifteen minutes of fame are fading fast because your overpriced, packed in like sardines, slow service, and sketchy location. I never hear good things about Harborside anymore.

Oils, Keef, vapors, pure TCH sap, they have it all. The price is high. But.. When I have the money that's where I go. They have 8 walk up counters, all with the same display case. It's large, open and comfortable. They don't have very strong edibles, even the HLT brownies-not that strong. But they always have at least 30 strains to pick from and great security. They even offer classes and health wellness programs for those of us that really are sick. This place rocks, just wish they would take their prices down. I mean $68 for an 1/8? Too much!

They did not have the selection I had anticipated and what they did have did not meet my expectations. I could have driven 5 miles from my house in Sac and gotten the same quality, cheaper. Well I tried this club again cause of all the hype it has been getting in the news. Making this club "the model" for other clubs is NOT a good idea. If Harborside honestly claims to be Non-Profit, then they need to stop dipping into their product. This club is not only the most expensive club in the State, but lies to its patients. They have claimed to have a "lab" now for some months, yet every time you visit 90% of the product says "Test Pending." I've gone in everyday for a week straight and the same product says "Test Pending". If they don't have enough help in the "lab" or behind the counter, why don't they hire? How long too has the website said there will be a menu published? The staff may be extremely friendly, but to call themselves knowledgeable or honest is not true in any way.

As so many others have pointed out, pretty much any club in the Greater San Francisco area will carry the same product, weigh it in front of you and you are assured to pay far less. Harborside really needs to stop with the lies and sell their product in a price range that everyone can afford. I think I speak for most patients, close your fake "lab", get rid of all the extra BS you provide to a slim number of patients, make your product affordable, and just be honest to your patients who are truly in need.

I've been off and on about this club for awhile now. They have a pretty good sized selection, some days have better choices than others. Don't get me wrong, the people at the bar have always been friendly to me which is a big plus. However I can't help but feel ripped off more than half the time that I go there. They pre scale everything for you and package it up. Usually it's the exact amount.

Just recently I bought a "gram" and an eighth. Instead of giving me a full gram they gave me .9 of the Purple Diesel . I also spent $55 on 3.5 grams of Orange Krush. It was a decent strain but extremely overpriced, especially for something as stemmy as it was.

I called and complained, and the receptionist told me to come in and that bringing the weed wasn't necessary (like I'd wanna drive all the way back there that same day anyways). I go there a couple days later and tell the guy at the bar. The manager came and said I should've brought it in or a receipt(which I showed her the receipt and she still "couldn't do anything"), but all her responses were "I'm really sorry", "You can always ask us to weigh it for you", and "There's nothing I can do". Bullshit.

I could go to Grass Roots and they'll weigh everything out in front of me (nothing being pre packaged), and if it's stemmy they'll give you a couple extra points, and they don't tax, they take 10% off your purchase after you spend $50, and if you're broke you can get really good weed for $40 and eighth.

Harborside has pretty good edibles, a fourth of the brownie is definitely enough to effect you all day, but that's really not my thing. Besides the nice customer service from the people at the bar, I find that it's worth it to drive all the way to San Francisco and not feel ripped off and actually feel like I got a good deal than to go here again.

Thursday at 3:00PM this little fat boy boogied on up to Harborside Cannabis dispensary with $310 in my pocket :o) Time to restock on my medication of choice. There were no crowds, and they brought out a chair for my gimpy butt to sit in while I perused their wares :o)

I Bought 19 HLT brownies at $7 each that I split into 1/8s dosage when I got home, and 1 ounce of El Bueno bammer for $145( plus the ridiculous California bay area tax of 9.75% or $27.11.) For a total of $305.11, how cool is it that I got change? :o) (Found out they take all major credit cards also. In fact it‘s much preferred as there is no money carried around)

This $305.11 filled my incentive card, and almost filled another one. I turned in my first card for 2 more $7 dollar HLT brownies, and $4 for two Coconut cookies. :o) Free is still very good :o) So all in all I got 21 HLT brownies that should last for 84 - 168 days, depending on whether I eat 1/8 or ¼ of a brownie per day. Also 1 ounce of decent enough cannabis to fill in any breakthrough pain that may come along from the Neuropathy of Diabetes. The vaporizable Cannabis, (El Bueno Bammer) is actually pretty good stuff, and the price is some of the best I have found in California.

So, this happy little fat boy now has about 90 days of medications for a cost of about $100 a month. It has now been 2 ½ years since I’ve had to take a Vicodin or Norco for pain from my Diabetes, NO liver damage, NO kidney damage, NO lung damage, and I’m still a happy camper! Thank you again Harborside and the beautiful people of California who voted this in…

Please remember the war on drugs is a war on the American people, by our government. Where across our nation every year there are 800,000 people arrested every year for simple possession of a Cannabis Cigarette, and the average jail time spent for this travesty of justice is six months. That’s 400,000 man years of jail time per year, at a cost of $42,000 per person or $162,000,000,000 billion per year for possession of a helpful herb :o( These are not my numbers, but the Attorney General of the United State’s numbers…

First visit to a dispensary after receiving a medical referral was most satisfying. Harborside was on the way back to work so I stopped there to determine if it would be a good fit. Security in the parking lot were pleasant, as was the door sentries who provided a mini-overview of expectations. The inside was surprisingly spacious and even with the crowd of customers, my stay there was short. A very large selection of "meds". I got 2 packets of the high end meds, and I'll certainly be back for more. Recommend!

I bought a high end indica purple and a soma coma indica/sativa hybrid. All total I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I just drove an hour and a half to go to harborside in the pouring rain...what a nightmare! The whole time I was looking at medicine this "manager" lady just stared at me like a crazy woman and when I mentioned the 15% discount (which the girl up front told me to mention). The nightmare of a "manager" proceeded to verbally assault me and ask 100 questions. Her own co-worker looked at her crazy and said,"this is a collective"! It was humiliating. She wasnt even the one helping me. It has honestly been years since a stranger has hurt me so bad. Instead of greeting me with a smile for being a fellow MME she just tried to make me look like i was lying. It was flat out bizzare. People dont make me cry...but i almost did. The other female"manager" was rude and made no eye contact. The guy helping me was even looking sideways at her for being so randomly mean. I will never go back to this club. Some of the people were nice. Too expensive...too crowded...and I ended up being given in my bag and charged for $70 bucks worth of medicine I didnt want, but that lady made me so uncomfortable I just signed the reciept and left. Im so hurt, I drove all the way from Sac to Oakland just to go vist Harborside. Worst staff ever at any business I have visited in years!

HHC is very well located and has easy parking. Their selection is big but the place is way overpriced. The first time I went the service I received was great. The manager was friendly and showed me around after a quick registration. The line was loooong... but when I finally got to the counter I was very impressed with the guy behind the counter. He explained the differences between sativa and indica and even recommended a couple of interesting strains. Then he broke out the "Intensive Care" purple strain and told me that it rated something like 28 points on the THC scale (average cannabis ranks 8-12 so I'm told). He was not kidding, I tried it out and was floored. The hash he sold me was also awesome. I was very happy with my first visit. The second time I went in was for an hour of volunteering. I got the sense from the same manager that I was only there for the free hash he promised me for an hour of my work. I did my job and then he gave me a filled up frequent buyer card. I took it to the counter and some girl told me it was only good for $17 and she didn't have any grams of anything for $17. I also wasn't able to put the $17 towards an 1/8 and pay the difference. How lame is that? Perhaps she was new or something. She also seemed more interested in talking to the guy next to her than helping me select a gram of hash. I ended up buying a gram which was great but overpriced. The real bummer though was that all of the free services they offer are all booked. I tried to sign up for a chiropractic session but all of the appointments were booked through all of the available dates. So you basically have to be there immediately when they post the sign up sheet or you're screwed. I've considered the "free" stuff to be too good too be true. I think everyone should check out HHC but check out the other clubs too!

Yes, this club is a bit more expensive than most. Yes, the process to become a member is a bit longer, though no more difficult or exposing, than any other dispensary in the East bay.

That said, it also has the best product I've found in the East bay. For those of you/us from the central valley, it's thrice the size, twice the strains, and with more free non cannabis related holistic care than any club I've encountered in eight years. Seriously, freeeeeeee.

Taking into consideration the raids on SF and so called "Oaksterdam" dispensaries, I feel most comfortable here. This place has the same feel as an acupuncturist or therapeutic massage clinic. More often than not, the clients in line before me are in tailored suits and smell of courtroom. That's not a good thing in general, but if lawyers are in line, I tend to think I'm quite safe, legally.

A slight bit more costly but far more quality alternative medicine than anywhere else in Oakland, strictly by my opinion anyway. And my opinion, when it applies to cannabis, is worth giving a listen.

Whelp this little fat boy went to the doctors yesterday, then boogied on up the freeway to 5th St. off ramp, down the ramp and under the freeway, south on the Embarcadero to Harborside Health Center of Oakland where the road turns.

It was the third time I've been there, and again the experience was excellent.

I've read the reviews of others who have said that it was crowded and unfriendly. I've gone there on a Monday, a Tuesday, and a Thursday all in the afternoon, and I have had no problems at all. the staff from the excellent security too the managers have all been helpful, happy, and courteous.

Their prices seemed very good. I bought an Oz of Bammer bud for a little over $200 and two grams of Purple Sand Hash for $45, I was told by a friend that this is the very, very best 100 thread hash. It's called 100 thread because it's sifted through a 100 thread per inch silkscreen to give you some of the finest high THC hash available.

Oh yeah they also threw in a gram of hash for free because my punch card was full, and some samples of Coconut flavored one a day cannabis gel caps to try instead of the 1/8th brownies I've been taking.

Free is good!

I have Asthma as well as Diabetic Neuropathy for the last ten years. Last year on December 16th I smoked my first Medical Cannabis, an it was miraculous, the pain was gone. Not reduced, but gone.

I was taking 50X 5/500 Vicodin's a month for pain in my feet and hands. This led to blood tests that was showing elevated damage in my Liver and Kidneys. My doctor took me off the Vicodin, and prescribed Norco at 10Mg. I was taking almost 40 of these a month for pain. Pain that was so very bad that I would feel like someone was stabbing me every few seconds in the feet with a ice-pick, the pain would travel up my legs and into my chest and hands until I could stand it no longer and I would take 2 Norcos, then suffer for four hours until I took 2 more Norcos. This didn't stop the pain, but sort of put it on a back burner until I passed out from the Norcos. Then the next day is wasted because you are hung over from the Norcos taken the day before and can do nothing but drift in and out of sleep all day. Then two or three days later the pain cycle starts all over again. Life was getting pretty sucky at this point.

My point isn't for pity or anything just to tell you that since December 16th up to and including today I have not taken a single Vicodin, or Norco for pain. That's over ten months.

My blood tests all now show in the normal range for Kidney and Liver damage. And I can get away with eating as little as 1/8th of a brownie in the evening with dinner, and keep the pain at bay. Once in a while when there is what they call breakthrough pain, I can easily stop it with one puff of the Purple Sand Hash. And the pain stops...not after four to eight hours, but by the time I finish taking one puff and put the pipe away.

I guess I just want to say thank you to the voters of California for passing these laws, and for places like Harborside Health Center for supplying medications that have helped me. Thank you, thank you all. Life is good again.

(=)(=) Yepper that's what my eyes look like this morning I guess it comes from too much laughter :o)

Last week after much wrangling an petty politics the great county of Alameda including the city of Bezerkly, has finally changed it's policy of "NO HASH" too one of enlightenment :o)

So Friday this little fat boy tripped on down to the local pot club in San Lorenzo to check out the changes..... Bummer no changes :o(....... but I was told to go checkout Harbor (something) Medical "I can't remember the middle part, Oh that's right it was Harborside. I just smoked :o)" anyway it was on embarcadero by Alameda island, "So how come I can remember the address, but not the name?"

Anyway Saturday morning I boogies on down the freeway the eight miles or so to Fifth St. off ramp down to the bottom made a left under the freeway then south on Embarcadero south 1/2 mile to 1840, whipped my truck around the east side on the building and knocked on the door, then knocked on the door........ Then knocked on the door :o( yelled at the camera to open the door :o( sat in my truck.

:o) drove around too the west side of the building and realized the freeway side was on the wrong side :o)

I was welcomed into the chair lift and lifted up the steps, and into a clean white and blond wood interior :o) This rocks :o) Sat down by a nice young friendly Redhead woman who was very personable, "I asked her if she wanted to get married :o)" She laughed and gave me a tour of the facility, and showed me to the buying room :o)

This had a long bar about 50 too 60" with six stations at each station there was a display of what seemed about 100 types of cannabis and about 100 types of Hash, Kief, Hash Oils, Brownies, and Candies to choose from smell, and inspect, with explanations of processes, ingredients, and highs :o) "I asked the young woman behind the counter if she wanted to get married :o)" She laughed...

I bought three grams of Bubble Hash $30,and eight brownies at $7 each, but this breaks down to $1.75 as I cut them into quarters :o)

Then she brought out a little incentive card that for every $25 spent she would put a punch on it, and after thirteen punches you got a free gram of anything on display or $15 worth of Brownies, cookies, or candy :o)

Off I went home with my new found treasures :o).

"Keif" what a wonderful thing it is in a water pipe. First you put a piece of bud in the bottom of the bowl to make a base, then you take a very small spoon from past times and scoop a bit of the powdered Kief on top of the flattened bud and tamp it a very little to get it flat on top of the bud, I called this building the birds nest, then you light the edge of the pack and take a puff, then cover the hoodie so the ember goes out, then re-light it 2 or 3 times and your wrecked, laughing, and just feeling goood as the last of the Kief completes it's burn:o)

The Brownies are great :o) I have Asthma, so I don't like to smoke, but 1/4 of a brownie puts me just right :o)

I have been to Harborside two times now and I would urge anyone to try it... John C... :o)

They have:

1) Knowledgeable Staff
2) Graded Strains of Marijuana, or Meds
3) Price Range of $35 to $60 per 8th - Their price does not include TAX though...
4) Meds Quality - Low to Xtra Great! This reflects the Price Range
5) Their stock is about 30 different types of Marijuana, and 30 types of Hash - $20 to $50

Note: They have a 2 Ounce per week Purchase limit

Of course, I would be happier if the Cost for Meds was $5.00 per gram... Yet! Still, this Caregiver Cooperative is impressive... Without a Doubt... it has No Competitors or Competition!

Then again, when comparing quality, not counting the High End, the Price Range is about the same for both Cooperatives.
