Berkeley Medical Marijuana Patient Reviews

BPG does have a far wider selection then the little places closer to me, but it's in the edibles that the bay really shines. I don't know if Green Pi stopped making those little toffees, or did BPG stop carrying them?

Having lived all over california, this is the only place with decent 15 and 20 dollar 1/8ths. You could go somewhere else and get their 10 dollar an 8th of that brown aztec crap, but this is the place for people on a budget. Not only that, but free food, indoor medication lounge (with seriously cool and zany people), and a huge selection of clones, pipes, and other marijuana related articles for purchase. The only bad thing I can say about this place is the lines. The secret is out of the bag, and they do not always run the express line which baffles me. 4/5 stars.

This place has horrible medicine that's moldy, mildewy, and musky. It has spider mite damage. I picked up a dank treat edible that tasted like moldy pot. The staff is extremely rude and impatient, and they hurry you out the door. I felt like just a dollar sign. I will look around the east bay for better locations. One love.

This is the first club I have ever gone to and I must say I like it. Overall, the people are friendly (one time I had a rude employee help me). I am looking forward to the day when I am not in a rush and can kick back and use a vaporizer. I have been to another club in Vallejo and there is no comparison. I will only use the club in Vallejo if it is an emergency. Go BPG!

Great place to acquire the best pot you can get in the east bay. Don't even think about it, you're not going to get better meds anywhere else, even if your friends recommended it.

Ok, for those of you who actually use marijuana for medicine, avoid this place if you can. Yes, it is big and has a wide selection, but their staff is completely clueless as to what they are selling you. I have a medical condition where I need this to be able to live my day-to-day life, but the problem is, I am highly allergic to sativa strains - to the point where I have to go to the hospital because I can't stop throwing up. Every time I go into this club, I explain my situation and that I need a pure indica. Some of the people know their head from their ass, but 90% of the time, you will get two completely different answers from two different people.

The check-in lady was a nightmare. She was barking orders at people -- and these are (at least some) sick people at that. Jesus christ -- how's that for compassionate health care?

I've been to this place several times and I can't say I've been impressed by the meds.

I buy my medicine almost exclusively from BPG and I absolutely love the place. The selection is wider than anywhere I've been and ranges in price from $5-60 for 1/8s.

Good club, good people, good selections.

Out of the very many clubs I have been too, Berkeley Patients Group (BPG) is by far the best in the bay. The city of Berkeley is the only city in the bay that lets patients medicate in the lounge. They have amazing deals ranging from 10 - 60 eightths. All ranging in potency. Edibles, drinks, volcanos, accesories, extracts, a whole plethora of items.

I've been going to this place for awhile because it's so convenient, but it's only the second place I've been, for what it's worth.

Overall it's a cool club. I enjoy going there and the coffee is just great and free. Some of the bud tenders are great and have an idea of good smoke from 10 dollars on to 60 dollars. I wish they showed everyone the same respect whether you're buying all star or chocolate thai, but I love going there, in fact I'm on my way there right after I write this review. Keep up the good work!

I just wanted to thank BPG for all the great work and the fight that they do for us everyday. We the patients appreciate all the effort, time and finances it takes to provide us quality medicine, safe environment and a voice in the community. I also wanted to thank them for all the great upgrades that have taken place in the dispensary to make it a place to spend time with other patients and further my healing. Also, wanted to let you know that I love the new awning and the paint job of the building. Keep up the great work!!

Nothing says "this should be illegal" like cortina wire on the exterior fencing. Exterior appearance is disrespectful to the surrounding neighborhood and overly visible security guards make the place look more like a drug lord's compound than a dispensary of medicine. Take some lessons from Oaksterdam colleagues to the south and become a community asset, not a blight.

Love, love, love this place! They are very safe, rule-abiding and well-mannered people who are very responsible. This is not the place to go if you are a druggie hiding under the guise of medical pot. If you are like me and have a real doctor, who really advises pot for a chronic condition, then you will fit right in. My own doctor recommended it based on it's reputation amongst the medical community - he is a Kaiser doctor too.

The Berkeley club's owners have snotty attitudes. You can tell most aren't interestedin the patient's needs. They rush you like a street dealer looking out for the cops. I have seen african american people treated rudely, and I am caucasian. We are all sick people, and the treatment by the snobbish workers almost seems racist. The prices and limits are terrible. The quality of the meds was not worth the time of my half an hour wait in line. The security was nicer than the budtender, and I wish I could pick my budtender because I didn't want to go to the guy who was treating theafrican american patients poorly and caucasian patients nicely. I hate underlying racism. I voted for Barack Obama who is half caucasian.

Very busy shop, lots of return patients. Everyone seems very happy. I get good advice from workers. Very relaxed environment. When I told them what my doctor recommended for my symptoms, they were able to instantly recommend the right strain to help. And they have everything: edibles, smokes, drinks, clones, tinctures, hash, oils, capsules, etc.... so no matter how you take it, they have something to match your needs. One of my favorite clubs in the entire SF Bay Area!

I've been there 2 times, while my other half has been for a couple years on and off. The first time was nice - they went through the procedure, did the confirmation that I was indeed legal. I went to the dispaneary (which was crowded) and waited in line, and the budtender was amazing. So far, so good, right?

The BPG is a horrible club, in no way is the BPG compassionate. In fact, BPG should be an anti-compassionate club. I’ll give you my story. I was a loyal customer to BPG for 3 years. Yes, I tolerated the snotty attitudes from the employees. I have seen despicable things inside that dispensary.

These guys are the absolute worst! Only the security guys are nice, and if you are a grower, they make you wait 40 minutes, or longer, before they see you. And then, the will talk you down in price, or say something negative to pass on the deal. Please, I implore you, to stay away, save your time, and go someplace else! Good luck to you all.

People never fail to surprise me. You bring your doctors report to this club and the desk attendant explains clearly and unambiguously the club proceedure. They cover their reputation & fulfill the obligations they have as a cannabis club functioning "above ground," and safely by contacting your doctor to verify the paperwork is legitimate. They offer to call you as soon as this is done, or let you call them. This is because they don't sell out the back door, they run a safe and clean spot, they offer a huge variety of additional free services and social events (poetry slams, open mic, classes on your rights & the law, etc.) And what do people say about this club and the free services they offer? That the receptionist is "a bitch," and that BPG is greedy. If you really feel so negatively about it I suggest excercising your right to take your money elsewhere. I've been mugged in Oakland walking back to my car from a club there - not in any way typical but it would *never* happen at BPG. My only regret is that they no longer sell clones. It's ok they always had spider mites.

Tuesday April 14, 2009 was my first visit and my first experience using the club, I was very impressed by all of the staff, from the security officers, receptionist, budtender, and the display case of nicnacs. The other patients were friendly and helpful. I suffer from mental health issues, and chronic pain and was taking 150 Norco 10/325, morphine 30mg and at night a sleeping pill. I have run out of medication more times then I care to remember and i have had pain that none of the narcs would relieve the pain that I wanted to committ sucide in fact I did twice and if it didn't touch the pain that meant i didn't even fall asleep to go into a coma. Since Tuesday I have been able to sleep very well,in fact all night without much pain, in the morning before work I take everything except the narcotics and my MM and I am good for my 10 hours shift. I can now safety get my medication without fear of losing my job or my life in a back alley.

I live near Sacramento, so that is where I normally go for meds, but I was fortunate enough to drive through Berkeley and gave this place a try. It was amazing! This blows all of the Sacramento dispensaries out of the water! |

I was in town visiting and decided to stop by. Verification was easy and the front desk was very cordial. The whole process took just a few minutes--being from out of town I greatly appreciated this. When I was escorted to the medicine section I was totally blown away. Fully stocked in every way! Great edibles as well at great prices. I got some Humboldt Purps--Oh my god! I don't get this quality in Orange County. Great purple kief, great hash, great prices. The Humboldt would be $70 an 1/8 in SoCal. |

I was in aahhhh the kindness of the staff. Very helpful, I mean pros! The selection was great and the price's perfect! This place made me and my wife feel right at home! The snack bar outta site! Can't say enough good things about this place, truely a wonderland for folks in pain and I need of good meds! |

I have such mixed feeling about this place. Just yesterday, I was at the club and they attempted to overcharge me by $18.50. When I asked for a manger, they said " We do not have any managers." So I replied " Is anyone here in charge?" After they all looked at each other a few times someone finally stepped foward and we cleared it up. |

Very good staff, their high grade aka their all-stars, the meds grown by themselves is $60 bucks which I know is a little extreme but the thc content of them is worth it. Favorites are all star Bubba Kush, recently just picked up some all star Black Purps, when popping the top smelled exactly like fruit loops. A definite must to go to if your in the Berkley area, huge selection 20+ strains. |

I have been going this club for the past month and love it. They have a great selection to choose from. Their edibles are very good my personal favorite are the Green Pi Sativa Snickerdoodles. When the line gets long they pass around complimentry joints. All around this place is great. |

Ah...Berkeley...The undeniable magic you find in the city across the board clearly applies to this wonderful place. The selection is excellent and counter staff are very helpful. The large power point type screen gives you the pricing details which is helpful. Security staff are really nice and make you feel both safe and welcome. Other features make a visit here even more user friendly: books and equipment for sale as well as a clean bathroom. |

The BPG is sick. They definitely do sell ounces - you can get up to two per visit - and clones. They have a legit points system also, when you buy, you get x amount of points per dollar. Each point equals a dollar. Definitely worthy to check this club out, I just picked up an ounce of White Widow, and some dank Maui Wowie. |

This club actually does sell ounces, ranging from $115-$350...you can't buy top grade ounces however which doesn't bother me and they sell very nice clones when they have them. If you are looking for the best overall club experience in California make a stop at this shop. Most diversity by far. |

They do not sell ounces, or plants. The inner and immediate surrounding environment is like the NY Port Authority of the 70's. |

First and foremost, the club is brilliant! Organic Coffee for free 1-100 cups! Polite staff, smaller security and the manager is incredibly cool. The melt's are awesome and all I can say is this nice young man with ink helps out the homeless sometimes. Berkeley Patients' Group rules! The best strains hands down there are hazes, oprahs and kushes. Edibles kick rooster butt too! |

This was the first club I went into after receiving my card. The staff was very friendly with me and that was a big plus. They helped me completely through the process. The menu had a good amount of variety, with 8ths priced from $20 to $60. However, I did feel a bit rushed to make a selection once I was at the counter. Otherwise this place was great. They let you smoke inside too. |

I originally got my prescription through BPG in 2000. Patient numbers were low and I was actually "recruited" to be patient. This was before the beloved founder passed away. BPG has survived in the same location for many years now and you have to give them their props. They feel they've earned the right to be snooty sometimes. Great counter staff though!! I too saw the pouty woman at the front upon my last visit to the club, but that All Star White Widow (in a glass medicine jar for $65) was all worth it! Delicious and mindblowing! Uhhh this Grandaddy H20 pressed keif- not so impressed- will have to go for some butane hash next time. BPGs lines can be really long, but like I said, thy've earned their good reputation among patients, and is the only place one can medicate on premisise in the east bay. |

This is an excellent dispensary offering an “Amsterdam” experience as waterpipes or vaporizers are provided for patient use in a lounge area with free coffee. There is a wide variety and price-range of meds, the staff is very helpful and they sell smoking devices and books and magazines about medical cannabis. Two thumbs up! |

The Berkeley Patients Group happens to be one of the most professional MMDs I've ever been to. It is a positive environment and the staff tries 100% to help you find and understand all that you need to know as a patient. This is definitely my favorite dispensary to stop in at. A plus is the awesome security they have outside. It makes you feel safe and protected. It is so awesome!! |

If you like dispensaries that allow for smoking, this may be the place for you. And while the selection may be good, some of the "care-givers" are less than compassionate. There's a sour woman that performs customer in-take, and the shop won't accept even debit charges under ten dollars. |
