BPG does have a far wider selection then the little places closer to me, but it's in the edibles that the bay really shines. I don't know if Green Pi stopped making those little toffees, or did BPG stop carrying them?

Having lived all over california, this is the only place with decent 15 and 20 dollar 1/8ths. You could go somewhere else and get their 10 dollar an 8th of that brown aztec crap, but this is the place for people on a budget. Not only that, but free food, indoor medication lounge (with seriously cool and zany people), and a huge selection of clones, pipes, and other marijuana related articles for purchase. The only bad thing I can say about this place is the lines. The secret is out of the bag, and they do not always run the express line which baffles me. 4/5 stars.

This place has horrible medicine that's moldy, mildewy, and musky. It has spider mite damage. I picked up a dank treat edible that tasted like moldy pot. Ok, for those of you who actually use marijuana for medicine, avoid this place if you can. Yes, it is big and has a wide selection, but their staff is completely clueless as to what they are selling you. I have a medical condition where I need this to be able to live my day-to-day life, but the problem is, I am highly allergic to sativa strains - to the point where I have to go to the hospital because I can't stop throwing up. Every time I go into this club, I explain my situation and that I need a pure indica. Some of the people know their head from their ass, but 90% of the time, you will get two completely different answers from two different people.

For a club to claim they are dispersing "medicine", they clearly are full of it! When I called to complain that I just wasted my money on medicine that made me sick for two days, I was told that some of the growers lie about what they are bringing in and rather than take any responsibility for the budtender's mistake, the manager told me that I might want to grow my own. Wow. Insightful. Maybe instead of telling customers to make their own product, they should try to maintain their clientele and do something to rectify the situation. Not only did the manager conduct terrible business practices, she also let the customer know that what they sell might be something completely different than as advertised. And they obviously don't test their own product, because I got some Grapes from them that tasted and smelled like burnt rubber once I smoked it. The taste was so powerful that I didn't even want to smoke it. And that taste means the grower didn't properly flush it, which also means it was full of chemicals. And if he wasn't smart enough to flush it, I can only imagine what pesticides he was using and not cleaning afterwords.

So the next time you think you are getting, "All Star Chem Dawg," you might really be paying for a high and a flavor you really don't want. There are plenty of other clubs in the area who can get my business and who know their product.

The check-in lady was a nightmare. She was barking orders at people -- and these are (at least some) sick people at that. Jesus christ -- how's that for compassionate health care?

Other than that -- no real problems. When I confronted the afformentioned security person, a nice guy told me she's like that to everybody. Pretty exorbitant prices make me think this place's primary purpose is to make money -- but a non-profit collective is probably too much to hope for at this place.

Overall, a very unpleasant experience. I'd probably go back, because there's noone else around.

I've been to this place several times and I can't say I've been impressed by the meds.

The check in lady is completely unhappy and negative. The coolest people there are the security guards. I like the Volcanos on the tables as well as the glass pieces on loan.

If you're there to vend, good luck. It seems like they just try and talk you down and make up some B.S. reason why they don't want to buy it or why they can't pay a reasonable price.

It comes down to the fact that there are too few clubs and too many growers. So they can offend and waste the time of whomever they please, since there are always more growers behind them. If they cared about quality product, they wouldn't do this. Truth is, they know people will pick something, if they already went in there.

All I can say is grow your own, support a friend, or buy it on the street. It beats supporting these people.

Everytime I see a club with compassion, care, health, etc... in the name, I can't help but laugh, since that could not be further from the truth. The best part of it, is just laughing at how ridiculous it all is.

We need more clubs.

I buy my medicine almost exclusively from BPG and I absolutely love the place. The selection is wider than anywhere I've been and ranges in price from $5-60 for 1/8s.

They provide many free services and always have coffee, tea, and basic snacks like cookies or crackers available for patients in the smoking lounge. They recently added a few digital volcanoes to the lounge and you can always check out a bong, a pipe, or get some papers from them.

Their feature that sets BPG apart from other clubs, in my opinion, is the points reward card. For $2 you can buy an RIFD card that builds up a small percentage on the dollar for whatever you buy. I can't remember the exact percentage but it basically works out that you get tax back. It may not sound like a lot but if you buy medicine weekly or more often it really adds up.

The staff has been incredibly helpful for me, for the most part. While they do try to hurry you through if the line is really long, they are always willing to help you find a medicine that will work for you. However, some of the staffers are much more knowledgeable about cannabis genetics.

I recommend the All-Star Jack Frost, if you're into sativas, that they almost always have. If edibles are your thing, try one of the on the rise brownies or gingerbreads; they are very potent and sativa based so they don't just knock you out.

They have amazing deals ranging from 10 - 60 eightths. All ranging in potency. Edibles, drinks, volcanos, accesories, extracts, a whole plethora of items.

I've been going to this place for awhile because it's so convenient, but it's only the second place I've been, for what it's worth.

Truth be told, I really think this place could be better. They provide a TON of "perks" for free (this is reflected in the price of the medicine, of course), but it's most important to me that I get my medicine, and I think the process of getting it isn't that great.

The exterior is kind of crazy, with barbed wire and tons of ominous guards outside. I actually drove by about 6 times on three different occasions before I finally drove onto the lot, because I was so put out by the look, and lack of any indication I was in the right spot.

I typically feel pretty rushed getting medicine, even on my first visit when I told them I hadn't been there before. I would like to get in and out quickly, but they sell a lot of products and they don't always have my favorite strain, so I must choose alternates.

Unforunately, 100% of the advice I've taken from the budtenders there has been a complete waste of money. If I ask for one strain, and they suggest another (based on our short conversation about my needs), I take their advice because they're more of an expert on these strains and edibles than I am, and every single time, I've been disappointed. I've wasted a lot of money on medicine that just doesn't work, and there's nothing more disappointing than expecting some relief and not even getting a mild buzz, let alone pain relief.

Someone suggested starting with the cheap stuff because the expensive wasn't any better, but I disagree. I bought one of their 2.5star items just to try today (after buying lots of 5+ star strains), and it literally looks JUST LIKE the "cooking blend" I bought awhile ago. In my experience, the mid-to-high range strains seem to be the best, the low-end strains are terrible, and their high-end strains aren't much better than the mind-range stuff.

It's terrible I had to spend so much money to figure this out, but hopefully I know better. And I know to go on my own instincts, not their suggestions trying to hurry me along.

I have seen african american people treated rudely, and I am caucasian. We are all sick people, and the treatment by the snobbish workers almost seems racist. The prices and limits are terrible. The quality of the meds was not worth the time of my half an hour wait in line. The security was nicer than the budtender, and I wish I could pick my budtender because I didn't want to go to the guy who was treating theafrican american patients poorly and caucasian patients nicely. I've been there 2 times, while my other half has been for a couple years on and off. The first time was nice - they went through the procedure, did the confirmation that I was indeed legal. I went to the dispaneary (which was crowded) and waited in line, and the budtender was amazing. So far, so good, right?

I went back a few days ago, and it was a totally different scenario. I went to the counter with my other half (which I guess is a no-no), got my meds, then saw something else I wanted - and because I didn't follow some rule (which is neither written or told) and I had to leave immediately to wait for my spouse outside, and instead I decided to wait for her to make another purchase, I was somehow breaking a myriad of rules, making "them look like some impropriety" was going on.

I felt like I was not buying meds from a dispensary. Super not cool. I mean, I didn't want to go wait outside with my bag of meds, in violation of the rules they gave me (don't loiter outside). I hope that that was an anomaly, but seriously, telling me that I can't be there with my spouse; they treated me like a 3rd grader (now you have to take your meds and walk in a straight line outside to wait for your friend) is like, totally, absolutely incompassionate. Sorry, this turned me off to this place. I hope it changes, and quick!

The BPG is a horrible club, in no way is the BPG compassionate. In fact, BPG should be an anti-compassionate club. I’ll give you my story. I was a loyal customer to BPG for 3 years. Yes, I tolerated the snotty attitudes from the employees. I have seen despicable things inside that dispensary.

The medicine is actually good; it is just unfortunate that they are on a mission to drive away patients with their service. Every time I go there it seems to get worse and worse. I am sick of being treated so badly. So, if you like 30 plus minute waits, horrible, horrible treatment, uninterested budtenders, go to the BPG. I would rather drive a half hour away to an SF club to be greeted with a smile and be in and out in 5 minutes, then drive 5 minutes from my house and spend a half hour there.

People never fail to surprise me. You bring your doctors report to this club and the desk attendant explains clearly and unambiguously the club proceedure. They cover their reputation & fulfill the obligations they have as a cannabis club functioning "above ground," and safely by contacting your doctor to verify the paperwork is legitimate. They offer to call you as soon as this is done, or let you call them. This is because they don't sell out the back door, they run a safe and clean spot, they offer a huge variety of additional free services and social events (poetry slams, open mic, classes on your rights & the law, etc.) And what do people say about this club and the free services they offer? That the receptionist is "a bitch," and that BPG is greedy. If you really feel so negatively about it I suggest excercising your right to take your money elsewhere. I've been mugged in Oakland walking back to my car from a club there - not in any way typical but it would *never* happen at BPG. My only regret is that they no longer sell clones. It's ok they always had spider mites.

So I replied " Is anyone here in charge?" After they all looked at each other a few times someone finally stepped foward and we cleared it up.

This raised a point, The BPG is blood thirsty to make us all poor. They do not lower the price in times of difficulty in fact they raised it and taxed us. Also it is illegal to charge sales tax on Medicine. So they are robbing you everyday. And believe me they have registered as a medical despensery making them exempt from paying tax. That means they keep every dime. Remember the good ol days when medicine was cheap and if times got hard the medicine got cheaper. To bad bloodsuckers are in control. The large power point type screen gives you the pricing details which is helpful. Security staff are really nice and make you feel both safe and welcome. Other features make a visit here even more user friendly: books and equipment for sale as well as a clean bathroom.

I thank and praise the free snack bar, a very special touch! I also appreciate the clientele. A true diversity of friendly fellow ganga smokers of varying ages, socioeconomic levels and ethnic groups. Again, that's part of the Berkeley magic coming at ya. Having a smoking lounge is great and of course I'd prefer an Arab style chill room instead of harsh lighting and sparse bare-bones furniture but let's not be too greedy and entitled. Just to have a place to medicate on-site is great.

The only downside of the place as many people have pointed out is the sour woman who checks IDs when you enter. Here's an idea: let's direct our appreciation for all the wonderful aspects of this club back at her and maybe she'll come around.
